iclee (pronounced "zhee-clay") reproductions are printed using a modern digital fine arts printing process. The French word giclee means "to spray on" or "to spray ink". The image of the painting is scanned and digitally stored in a computer and then sent directly to a high resolution inkjet printer. This relatively new digital technology, utilizing pigmented inks, provides outstanding detail and brilliant color. The image resolution (dots per inch) is higher than older methods of lithography, and results in clarity of image, beautiful contrasts, and rich intense color.
Printed on high quality fine arts watercolor paper, each print will provide you with many years of enjoyment. It is recommended that you treat your giclee prints the same as any original art work. Giclee prints should be protected from water, should not be placed in direct sunlight, and should be framed and mounted under glass with acid-free matboard and backing materials.
